!Giveaway & Streaming Metro Last Light Redux on Twitch

Last night we went in search of the little Dark One in Metro Last Light Redux. We were betrayed by a friend and even got sexy times with a beautiful Russian woman.

Man, I love this game!

Tonight we continue our search and mission: to kick ass in this wasteland of ours!

I’ll also be holding another giveaway/raffle tonight. The games include:

  1. The Binding of Isaac & Wrath of the Lamb DLC
  2. Deus Ex: The Invisible War
  3. Bioshock 2

You’ll need to spend BeardHairs in order to enter the raffle, which you receive free just by being in chat! So the more you’re in my Twitch chat, the more points/hairs you get!

Tonight’s Metro Last Light Redux stream begins at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Metro Last Light Redux

Come with me if you want to live!

500 Followers! Oh, and Skyrim and the Dark Brotherhood

Guys, we did it. We reached 500 followers! 500 people have watched the stream and decided we were worthy of keeping tabs on.

We also hit 10,000 views last night. Huge milestones for having streamed only for a month and a half, and an indication of the future of our MikeReverb1 community. Thanks so much everyone. You made this possible.

Now, onto Skyrim.

The Dark Brotherhood quests have always been some my favorite questlines in the Elder Scrolls series. They task you with working in the shadows to create (or disrupt) a sense of order. Or, really, to just line the pockets of some bloodthirsty mothafuckas.

Skyrim The Dark Brotherhood

Either one works for me. 🙂

Last night, during my giveaway, we began the questline for this mysterious group of assassins, and tonight we’ll take more contracts for the glory of the Night Mother!

Follow me for an earlier, special stream at 6:00PM EST on the MikeReverb1 Twitch Stream — http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Streaming XCOM Enemy Unknown Tonight (Giveaway Saturday!)

Dern aliens took our jobs!

And our lives.

And our wives.

Illegal aliens aside, the aliens in XCOM: Enemy Unknown are pretty aggressive I found out yesterday. I was glad to kill a few, though I lost a few of my squad members in the process. I’ve already sworn to NOT reload a save game if a squad member dies. So it’s REALLY permadeath this playthrough. 😀

OH, and just a reminder: HUGE! Giveaway this weekend. Because my viewers are the most awesome people on the planet.

I mean, really, so many free games to give out.

So don’t be lame and follow me on Twitch. Tonight it starts at 10:00PM EST on the MikeReverb1 Twitch Stream!

Sniper At My Heels: DayZ Standalone

He killed two of my viewers.

We were just standing in the middle of a tent, trying to regroup, trying to figure out where the sniper was.

We might have even laughed a bit, nervously considering our options.

Then a shot rang out. My friend Nephilim went down.

Then another.

Crumbled.

He trained his sights on me but I ran, and ran, and ran until I felt safe enough to log off. Not the most courageous option, I know, but I had a giveaway to run! 😛

Tonight I go back to the Northwest Airfield in search of trouble and ammo. Come join me, will you?

Man Is The True Danger In DayZ

I killed them.

All three of them.

They might have been brothers. Maybe cousins. They dressed alike–army fatigues–and carried boxes of ammunition. They were bandits, and several people had already died by their hands. The road was littered with bodies, trophies, warnings to passersby.

And my friend Aviate and I gunned them down on the hill outside of Elektro.

This is DayZ at its finest. Emergent stories. I am a survivor, and I will not be a victim.

DayZ Standalone

Death Incarnate

Follow me tonight at 10:00PM EST on the MikeReverb1 Twitch Stream. But be prepared to do whatever it takes to survive!

Also, I like beards.

Creating a Rogue’s Gallery in Rogue Legacy

I’m happy to say that my foray into videogame streaming on Twitch.tv has been quite successful.

I’ve met a wonderful group of people who enjoy gaming, joking around, and being generally awesome. I’ve certainly not abandoned my writing; it’s simply running concurrent to the game streaming. 🙂

Tonight, I plan on playing a game called Rogue Legacy, an action-platform game where every time you die, one of your heirs tries to avenge you. It’s brutally difficult, requiring expert timing, a keen eye, and super human eye-hand coordination.

Yup, this is how the game looks. Crazy!

Yup, this is how the game looks. Crazy!

As always, I will be streaming my playthrough tonight at 10:00PM EST on my MikeReverb1 Twitch Channel and would love to see my friends there!

You don’t have to jump through hoops or do any extra work to win these games: simply show up at 10:00PM EST, follow my stream, and type in the magic word before I roll the dice (I’ll be rolling the dice on-screen so it’s all fair).

Yesterday I gave out copies of Starbound, DayZ, and Hotline Miami, so if enough people show up today, I may throw in an extra prize for good measure. 😉

Can’t wait to meet all the new people who show up tonight; Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas Everybody

Do You Ever Talk To Yourself? “Yup!”

“Why? Why would you do that? The ledge is right there. I pressed the button; you should have caught it. What’s wrong with you?”

Of course, the videogame character on the screen isn’t going to respond. If he did, an old priest and a young priest would be called post-haste.

He just stands there scratching his butt and checking his weapon to make sure it’s loaded, animations some programmer put in to make it look like he’s alive.

I can try to convince myself that I’m talking to the character, and in some way I am, perhaps. But, really, I’m talking to myself, working out my frustration at dying yet again, at the same spot.

Talking to yourself. I can’t be the only nut out there who does it.

This habit takes several forms, but they all involve one thing: you’re either completely alone or away from other people. Some examples:

  • You can’t get something to work (“Come on; what’s wrong with this stupid thing?!”)
  • You’re excited about something (“Yes . . . yes! I got it!”)
  • You’re testing out dialogue or something else you’ve written (“’There ain’t no way I’m lettin’ you get away, partner’ Wait, I’m not writing a Western . . .”)
  • You think of a snappy comeback to something someone told you earlier (“ ‘At least I don’t smell like an orangutan!’ That’s what I’d have said.)
  • You’re pacing and trying to work out a problem (“But if I tell her, she’s going to hate me . . . Argh!”)

You get the picture. I dunno about you, but I feel good whenever I’ve given a voice to something that’s on my mind; it gives the problem or happy thought more weight when it goes from thought to sound waves.

I’m not crazy am I?

No, of course not, Michael.

I thought so. I mean, talking to yourself’s alright; it’s answering yourself that’s a problem, right?

Wrong; not answering yourself is rude. Don’t be a jerk.

You’re right again. Man, you’re pretty insightful.
